Stupidly erased a recorded program from hard drive. Can't capture or record it again. Is there a methodology for recovering the file? I don't want to remove it and install in a PC as this will void the 2 year warranty.

This recorder was supposed to connect to PC via the firewire to exchange files according to Sound and Design website but it does not.

    Any constructive suggestions welcome.

    Hi

Oddly enough there is no undo function on the hard-drive as there is on DVD-RW discs, likely because the DVD-RW disc is only updated on eject so an undo is simply a "do not update the table of contents" on eject type of thing. The file system on the hard-drive is updated after any change immediately, so having an undo would be more complicated but not impossible, but has been left off by Pioneer.

For all practical purposes you have lost the recording on the hard-drive, sorry.

File transfer via Fire Fire isn’t correct, you cannot transfer files, you can only transfer video, i.e. the recorder appears as a VCR/Multimedia device and not another drive letter.

    Regards

    Philip
