Hi guys,
I'm after a little help understanding V-sync. I know what it is, etc...but can't figure out if I should be using it or not. As I do my PC gaming on my lounge TV instead of a conventional PC monitor, my max refresh rate is 60Hz. Yet because I have a GTX970 in my rig, I often get frame rates in excess of this.
So I know V-sync will sort out my screen tearing issues, but I don't want to introduce any stuttering as I took up PC gaming for the smooth experience it offers over consoles.
So which V-sync is the best to use? Standard, adaptive, adaptive (half), double buffer? I'm currently leaning towards adaptive, as from what I can find online, this won't impact my experience if my frames go below 60.
Also, is it better to set it within the NVidia control panel, or within each game? As not all games have the same options?
Thoughts please. Thanks in advance.
