Sharp P series. Excellant TV but most potential buyers just don't look beyond the fact that it isn't HD even when they know they'll only be watching SD for years to come.

very true far too many people spend more time looking at the tech specs than the picture. the P series is the Only LCD i would consider on PQ its ideal for a second screen in a bedroom or secondry living room where avaialbility of HD is going to even more limited

I'll second (third?) that - My 32P50e is the best purchase I have made in years - ummed and ahhhhed about other, more expensive, sets in the HD category and eventually spent half my original budget on the Sharp - leaviing me very impressed with the SD and with £500 quid to spend on other stuff!

And it will do HD, maybe not exactly accoring to the industry standard, but it will give it a decent go......absolutley no regrets........well maybe that remote control....:D

    Panasonic range.

Sharp sets pale into comparison - things have advanced since 2001...

This isn't about what's the best LCD, its about the most underated. What has 2001 got to do with anything.
