I am looking to buy the Canon DIGITAL IXUS 50 camera in the next few days but before I do, I need to know if there an underwater housing which is suitable for diving? If so where can I get one from?

    Cheers :)

Don't think Canon make one like they do for say the A80 - the Ixus housing is only suitable to very shallow depths from what I've found.

Thats all I could find. Someone said that the canon 30 underwater housing would fit the canon 50. There is ment to be a 40m underwater housing for the canon 30.

Thanks for the tips crocodile. I am looking for a digitalcamera which has 5 mega pixels, very compact with 30 fps @ 480x640 video capture. This is why I have gone for the canon 50.

I will email this company and see what reply I get.

    Cheers :)

    Otherwise another great site here
And I bought an underwater "case" (EWA Marine) for my video from these guys

I'm not trying to get my post count up - just keep finding bits.... :)

From the technical page for the DSC-T33 here:

"Moving Image Size (MPEG VX Fine, 640x480, 30fps) YES "

shoe horn, cheers for the help. I tried the first link for the google search but it was for the canon s range which is the powershot range. The one I was after was the canon digital ixus 50.

I did consider the T1 but was put of by the poor flash. I would prefer the canon but if I cant get the right case I will go for the T33. Looks very nice and 640x480 @ 30fps is just what I want.

I really do appreciate your help and time thanks..... :smashin:

Just in case anyone is looking I have found an underwater housing suitable for 40m for the ixus 700 which is a 7.1 mega pixel camera. It evan has a underwater mode for a better quality of pic. :smashin:
