    Hi all,

A friend has asked me to recommend an Amp, but they have a budget of £200.

They have Mission speakers, not sure of the model numbers, they are about 4 years old and came as a set. Fronts are floorstanders, other than that i'm not sure of the rest. They are only running a 5.1 setup at the moment, but just in case i would prefer to suggest a 6.1 capable amp.

From looking around i've come up with Denon AVR1705, Pioneer VSXD714, Sony STRDE597B. The Sony is very ugly though.................

    Any recommendations,

    Cheers,

    Giz.

I wouldn't rely on that one, I ordered a Denon AVR1604 from empire's clearance section with limited stock and after hearing nothing for 4 days gave them a ring..."We have allocated it to someone else, sorry"

Nuff said, on the good side though, they sold me the 1705 for £159 to make up for it!

Panasonic XR50 if sound is important (superior in resolution/detail, clarity, transparancy, dynamics etc) even well above this price bracket.
