Sky HD - Picture quality on HD was ok on my 1080p Sony LCD but nothing amazing.
The EPG is quick and easy to use.
There is a lot of HD content but not as much as they would like you to think and it is mostly repeated.

Negatives - As a Scot the only football on HD was english so not much use for me and I would have to pay £15 for Satanta:)
The movies they show on HD that I like I have on blue ray with my ps3.
Two tuners was getting on my nerves.
Picture quality on some of the normal channels was really poor.

    Sky +

Similar good points to HD without the HD content.
Easy to use and quick response rate

Negative - picture quality on 32 inch LCD (panasonic wasnt great)
    two tuners

    V+ Positives

    Three tuners
    bbc i player
Standard def picture quality far better sometimes it can look as good as HD, so much it confused my wife.
    Setanta for nowt!:smashin:

    Negatives

lack of HD content for free
    Slow remote response

I have had Sky HD for over 2 years and recently changed to V+ last month.
I feel some people think things are brilliant with Sky but to me I think it was limited due to the age of the movies they did show and it was mostly BBC HD I watched.

Hmm... having had both (and working with HD) I have to disagree about HD differences, or maybe I'm just more aware of it.
Also, some of Virign's SD is much lower bit rate - funny how some programmes on Virgin1 are better on Sky.
    Oh, I don't like football :D

Some of it is, I agree but I dont really watch Virgin 1 apart from Sara Connor chronicles. The picture wasnt great on sky and wasnt great on virgin either. However there is loads of stuff on the BBC 1,2,3,4 CH4, CH5, and some of the movie channels which look better on Virgin than what they did on Sky.
Sky 1 HD i wasnt impressed with what so ever not one programme looked that good. 24 which I love looked fine but it aint looking too bad on V+. The Discovery HD channel and BBC HD consistently had the best quality pictures.
