    Wow

I just had my first post ever removed from a site.
I was simply critizising the review of Stargate UE

    This was on the www.hometheaterforum.com

I watch this movie the other night and i simply can´t understand that review.

The sound is reference but the picture is NOT!!!!!!!

And i ended by asking if that Ronald guy had watched the movie.

    5 minutes later removed!!!!!

Like i say in my post , i once thought the best of this guy reviews and used them as reference in technical terms.

I will not do so in the future

If you take a look at the screenshots at the ign dvd review, I think it is obvious that this transfer is of excellent quality. These screenshots compare the UE to the previous release.

    What display are you using?

Erm, yes this is a director’s cut version. The cut scenes are of very poor quality compared to the rest of the print. One frame in particular has been seriously damaged.

I think everyone knows this by now. The r2 version which has been released over a year now and is the same. OLD NEWS!

Your display isn't important? Right, well that is probably the most stupid statement I have heard. For all we know you could be using a 14 inch black and white.

Frankly I can see how your post was deleted. You come off sounding immature, insulting and unknowing.

I recommend both the ultimate edition and the r2 directors cut, which both have excellent transfers apart from the deleted scenes, but this cannot be helped.

Yes, you posted the link on this forum a week or so ago.:p

    Here is the link

I agree with alot of what is said. Reference quality it may not be, but it is very close (again, I am not talking about the deleted scenes).

Or are you talking about another review? Your first post is not very clear on what review you are even talking about!

I´m not saying that the whole dvd is crap.
Simply that when reviewing a dvd it should be clear that you dont call it reference disc when the print is not.
Maybe i was expecting too much from this release?
    I rest my case:)

Its called an ultimate edition, so we should expect just that. I don't think theres anything ultimate about it apart from the sound, which is reference with or without ex/es encoding. Not including the deleted scenes, I think it is an excellent transfer when you consider that this is almost 10 years old.

I dont think there is such a thing as perfect reviewers or a perfect reviews (well apart from Bjoern's website http://www.videophile.info/).
Perhaps the best thing to do is try and contact this reviewer you talk about and present these arguments to him, not on a forum and without the "Have you even seen it" lip.
