Unable to answer phone calls Galaxy S8

Suddenly I am unable to answer incoming phone calls. I press/tap the phone icon and it won't answer. When I try to stop the call it will not stop I have to switch the phone off. Any ideas?

Is it / can up update firmware?

Hi Wiz, that was quick. I have been investigating and it seems for some unknown reason I now have to swipe the icon, never done that before and I have had this phone for 9 months. Had some auto updates yesterday and from experience I have discovered they sometimes change things. Think I might turn them off if I can find out how (sorry I am an old fogey). Have to see if it lasts. Thanks for responding though.
