Who will pay £20 + p&p for a umd movie. The price has shocked me. Anyone paying that is either rich or mad!!

Yea i never took notice of the price tbh but there same at http://www.lik-sang.com/list.php?nav=over&category=312&
they are but expensive be better of buying a decent sized memory card and convert some dvd's really ;)
VG+ tend to have most usa umd for £13-£18 delivered which is cheaper but when look at dvd price you may aswell get dvd and convert to a memory card.

Wow, liksang have them for £26 + p%p + customs. That will be well over £30.

I wont be buying them until they are sub £10. I have a R2 so cant buy the cheap R1's but i am sure we will see the prices plummet very soon.

Ever heard of ebay, if you want one so badly you can go there and there are always people with stock.

    OR

Just buy a 512mb card which can hold a full movie in decent watchable quality, in fact 2 movies if you really arnt bothered about quality but it is still watchable.

Yeah, currently awaiting delivery of one of the Hong Kong supplied ones from e-bay.

From what I've read though I thought you need 1GB to get good quality video? Looking forward to getting the 512 one anyway so I can start experimenting .

At the moment i have a 256mb until the prices come down a bit then i will get a 1gb. I can fit about 1.5 hours of watchable video. For most people it is not good enough quality but for the timebeing i am happy with it.

This is one of the main advantages of getting a region 1 machine. I got three films for £5 each shipped from DVDsoon. They now have well over 100 listed on there site, with discount most end up around £7 delivered.

If you want to watch UMD films on it Region 1 is definately the way to go.

Well I got a PSP console from them for £105 shipped the UMD films mentioned for £5 each and around 50 Dvds for around £3,50 - £4 each.

So I will recommend them :)

All delivered no problems. Yes some delays up to a month or more in some cases but what do you expect at those prices ?

Yes Canadian PSP is region 1. It will play movies from DVD Soon. Make sure you dont get the VF ones (Version Francais) They have French writing on the packaging (Although the PSP stuff seem to come with two covers anyway)

Certainly not for games because of the import duty situation. MovieTyme seems to be about the best currently, £25 a game delivered and they are sent from the UK.

vidogameplus.ca are also good and work out around the same price, they mark down to try and avoid customs. Personally I would go with Moivetyme for games at the moment.

For region 1 UMD movies you wont get them any cheaper than DVDsoon currently I would say.

Afaik games are ubiquitous, only the umd's are region encoded.
