Which do people think is better?
I have the Ultramote. Works very well for me. Bit of a hassle to order as you need to send a code generated by the software upon instalation on a compatible PDA.
PDA-IR seems to be discontinued.
As Fishbones stated, the PDAir's are no longer manufactured, but if you get the chance to buy one on the second hand market, snap it up,as they work extremely well.
I have a the discontinued one already but I might need another one, I was intreagued by the dual LED for wide dispersion? They aren't much money....but if it was worse..
I'm desperate for either if anyone wants to offload one
Has anyone looked at using any other kind of IR booster or pyramid system for better dispersion. My main isue is my PJ which is above my seating position whereas all otehr equipment is in front of me. Just a thought.
hence my interest in wide dispersion
I may pop to Maplin and see what options they have with regard to using some kind of IR receiver/sender and will let you know how it goes (if it does)
Before I was able to buy an Ultramote IR extender, on ebay, I enquired about several IR receiver/sender solutions.
I found that the IR receiving and sending range of approx. 1-3 metres impracticable for my situation. However, your brief description suggests you can position the receiver within reach of your remotes' range and if you can position the sender close to the pj the RF signal, between the receiver and sender, has a range of 10-20 metres. Sorted.
Good luck in your investigations.
I put to good use,a pair of Powermids, that I previously wasn't using. The receiver and sender are in the same room, and used in conjunction with the PDAir,I can point the Simpad practically in any direction, and the ir signal gets transmitted to the IR receivers on my amp, plasma dvd etc.
Which software are you using with the extender..? Ultramote doesn't support .ccf's, PDAwin has no support and NetRemote doesn't support an extender...
Now if NetRemote supported the UltraMote extender I would jump...
Remote Control II from Wincesoft.
Doesn't look like it supports .ccf files..?
HIya guys, I am just configuring a DELL AXIM to use as my remote. How have you guys set up volume controls and channel change, as on the real pronto you have hard buttons.
Look forward to your response.
