I am looking for a new camera to replace my old Nikon 900. The price is not as important criteria as is the ultra compact size, picture quality, features, weight and batery life.

I looked as Kyocera S5 as a potential but I am worried about battery life.

    What else is worth considering?

I bought the Konica 310 (3.2MP)recently and the quality/colour/etc. of the images are very good. The Konica 510 model is the 5MP version and when I looked at it in Jessops, it was the same size and weight as the 310. It is very compact and although I haven't seen the results of that model, I would bet that the camera is worth considering. The battery life is excellent, and a charger is included.
    Hope this helps...

    Branxx -

I have just bought a Canon s50 to replace my fuji 6900.
The s50 is compact, neat, 5m pixels, battery life soso, good variety of manual setups, easy to use.
    Only downside - quite heavy.
    Superb pics though.
quite cheap on the net - "jessops" will probably price match
    good luck

I would ideally like a camera that easily slots into a pocket, around 250gramms.

I've had the Canon S50 for about 3 weeks and am very pleased with the features and the quality. It weighs 260 grams for the camera body only. It is a little too thick to easily slip into your pocket (unless you've got pockets like a clown!). However I bought the soft case and find it relatively easy to carry around.

Battery life is OK although there is no power meter. I've seen a spare battery on the net for £18 plus you need plenty of memory if you plan to take most pics on high res.

I have the ixus400, it's a 185 grams (225 with battery and card) 4meg, and would fit in your pocket with ease. got it for £335 from jessops on price match. My friend had the P92 which is large next to the 400- so he bought a 400 and sold the 92.

I love the camera, takes 3 min of film, and has enough manual seetings for me. Very good photo's to
