Has anyone any experience with this product ??

    http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog_name=CTLG&product_id=25-3085

Seems to be compatible with PAL.

Could it be use to convert VGA to Component/RGB video to view my desktop on TV (Currently using s-video which is not that great !) ?? I have already tried to make a vga to scart lead for my radeon, but had no luck with the powerstrip settings !!! Could this be a easy option ??

Mostly advertised in America , but there are several places to get it in the UK.

    :D

If you don't need to see your desktop, but wabt decent output for video have a look at the Relamagic Xcard.

Excellent TV out via s-video and comes with a dediacted remote. I was quite surprised.

Couple that with something like Joveplayer and you have a whole HTPC solution that works well on your TV with a remote interface. No messing with girder etc.

    Cheers

Don't rule out Xcard/Joveplayer quite so quickly.

Joveplayer has PVR links in it, and showshifter could well be one of the supported PVR programs. But I've been looking at so much lately I could be wrong. I haven't got around to PVR on the PC yet, Tivo and Sky+ have that handled.

    Cheers
    Marc
