Sorry. Been a while since I was last on. Needed a bit of help.

    R1 or R2?

Not bothered about the 'set with the bust' though, just the box set.

Been to Rewind but they only have R1. Only difference I can think of is the possibility that the cut in the first film might remain in the R2. Not sure though.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I read on an easter egg site somewhere that the R1 version of the set boasts a whole load of hidden easter eggs (7 in all) on disc 8's "second menu page". There's no second menu page on the UK version, and as far as I know, that's the only difference.

R1 is uncut R2 is still missing the Headbutts on matrix. Also R2 doesnt have japanese lang with eng subs option on Animatrix. Plus easter eggs are missing.
R1 is the way to go fairly cheap from cdwow and no customs problems.

additionally, according to the rewind website, there's a bonus commentary with keanu reeves, carrie-ann moss and others for the original movie, accesible via your pc as a dvd-rom feature. i've loaded up my region 2 release to see if it's on there as well, and intriguingly i get the message 'commentary in preparation, available soon'. clearly, it's going to be a streaming commentary, and that seems to apply to the others in the set also..................

Apart from the 2 headbutts missing on the R2 as opposed to the R1, is there much difference on picture quality??

I know there WAS difference compared to the the OLDER versions, but on these new transfers, is there noticeable difference between R1 and R2?

I have seen the R2 set for sale at £27.97

    Awaiting eagerly for your responses!!
    Cheers,

    :lease:

I haven't seen the R2 so can't compare it with my R1, however I haven't the R2 is any worse or any better.

Here's a review of the R1, if it's of any interest to you.
