So I joined this forum 10 years ago when I last bought a tv and the advice I got back then was to buy a pioneer Kuro 500. I took that advice and to be honest I couldn't have been happier. Great tv and only that the media box has stopped working and according to my tv guy can't be fixed I would happily keep it another 10 years.

So now I'm looking to replace it with a 55" screen - I think 65" would be just too big. I watch a lot of sports and movies- sky HD mostly. I have a surround sound system already so sound not an issue. For me its all about picture quality.

If you didn't need to worry about price what would you go for?

Money no object? Probably the Sony A1 or AF8 but its a bit of a waste with your own surround sound system.

The new Philips OLEDs coming out look fantastic and won't be as overpriced if you can wait.

But all the OLEDs, even ones from Panasonic and LG are great TVs and probably more than enough, they all use the same panel :)

LG B7 and get an Oppo uhd player to partner it.
