Does anyone have any experience buying & using cables from UKHDMI.com.
I.e. Shop service, Cable build quality & quality in use.
The cables look excellent on their website & the prices appear very cheap compared to elsewhere.

I recently bought some premium ones (1.3, 1080p) delivery was quick, cables are very good. I am happy that I bought from there

    Thanks for the quick reply.
Was it the N Premium or the Premium. Do they look as good a quality in the flesh as they do on the website?

I've bought the Premium N and they are great. Fast delivery not a stupid price and work just like it says on the tin. The 'braided' outer is a bit unusual because it's plastic not the material braid that I have on other cables. I don't know what the braiding does other than give some protection to the cable sheathing from rubbing so I'm not bothered. All that matters is they work, right?

I concur, I went for the N premium, good quality cables for a super price. They were also delivered the next day.

    Happy customer.

:smashin:Tend to agree, just bought two 'N' premium series for total of £12 for my Sky HD and Tosh EP30, looks the bees knees, good price, delivered fast - BUT.............unless I want to mess about swapping cables, not sure if they're any better than either the Tosh one that came with the unit, or even Argos's own cheapies. Anyone done any comparison tests please?

For short lengths pretty much any properly assembled cable will do the job.

Only need to start getting more picky once you start moving into 3-5m and longer.

Read the HDMI stuff at http://www.bluejeanscable.com/articles/hdmi-cable-information.htm gives a very clear picture of the way HDMI cables are made and what really matters about them.

Some insteresting stuff in that article. When I got Sky HD in 18 months ago, I shelled out about £70 on a 3m QED HDMI cable. I've now added some more equipment and need to add a HDMI switch, and as a result I need to buy a couple of shorter cables. I'm tempted to buy a couple of those 1.5m Premium N cables to run to the switch and then keep my QED cable from the switch to the TV. I'm sure it wont make the slightest bit of difference to the sky HD, but I'm not sure I'd feel right putting a £6 cable in the back of an Arcam FMJ139 DVD player. I think I'll buy a couple of them anyway, if I'm not happy then it's no great loss, and I can let you all know how I think it compares to my more expensive QED cable.

That's easy to solve, just get a friend to buy the cheap cables for you then you give him £70 each and you'll feel a lot better about it :)

I've yet to hear of a blind test that can show a difference between two working HDMI cables.

If a cable has been badly assembled then the differences are obvious but on short cable runs with properly built cables I defy anyone to spot the difference between £10 and £70 spent.

I have a clearer audio and QED HDMI cable, both 1 metre and neither look any different to the cable included for free with my DVD player.....

As has been said above, under 2 metres it really makes no difference at all.

Why not? I bet if you opened it up you'd find that the internal wiring isn't very posh at all! :)

I recently bought two 5m Premium-N cables and they are great. I'm very pleased. I'm aware that the longer the cable the better the quality needs to be which is why I spent big on a 15m cable for my projector but I honestly can't fault these 5m cables. I have tested them out with Sky HD and my PS3 running 1080p blu-rays.

    What? No half metre sizes then? 11.5, 12.5. 13.5, ..... :D

Actually it is very useful to be able to buy something that is pretty much exactly the length you want. No more loops of space cable hidden behind the av furniture.

So well done on supplying such a range of lengths

I've ordered a 15M Premium HDMI cable to send Sky HD to my projector room. Will report back on how that goes in a couple of days. Assuming it works then it's fantastic value at that length.

Wow, my cables arrived today, that was quick. I must say I'm impressed. Sky HD on a 40" screen just as good as through my QED cable. No doubt I'll be buying another one of these when I get around to buying a PS3.

Placed an order on Tuesday 22nd Jan. No delivery; the tracking number is not recognised by DHL; no response from the company either on the phone or by e-mail.

I would not recomend using this company it maybe a good product but the serivce is terrible:thumbsdow

Don't be too hasty, looking at everyone elses posts they normally give an excellent service.
I started this thread as I had never used them before, I have since purchased a couple of cables & the service was 2nd to none (ordered Monday evening, items arrived Wednesday morning)
Anyone can make a mistake, I'm sure you will get your order eventually.

Has anyone tried the "express" version of the UKHDMI cables ?

They're more expensive on the website so i'm just wondering which cable to get...express or the n premium series. Is there a 'big' difference between them ?

I've been puzzled by the product positioning on the 'Express' as well.

More expensive than the Premium yet no claims regarding 1.3 etc. so very unclear what the target is for them and why the price difference.

I Emailed UKHDMI a week or so ago asking them to explain in what order of quality the cables are, but have not had a reply.
I think the info we want is something like:
HDMI Express - Top of the range!
HDMI ECO - Bottom of the range!
If you look at the order the cables are listed on there site it looks like it could be the order of quality top to bottom, BUT the misleading thing is that the HDMI Premium cables come in lengths upto 20 metres?? Surely the TOP OF THE RANGE cable should come in the longest length
Could we also have some info on the actual cable used in each lead & if there is a difference across the range?

    :lease: HDMIHEAD some answers!!??
