    Yes.

The Z1 popped last week after 280hrs. I had a little bit of warning before it happened. The pj went really quite dimm.

The unit is only 3 months old too.

I posted it for warranty today. Hopefully there'll be a quick turn around of 2-3 weeks. Anyone else had this problem? How likely is is it that it will be free repair bunder the warranty? Any ideas how i could argue this. Is it the bulb thats faulty, or the units thermal management? New bulb or new unit?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    I'll keep you updated.

    David.

I think it needs to be under 90 days for a bulb to be replaced under warranty....

Most manufacturers have only 90 day lamp warranty, don't be suprised to receive an invoice for a new lamp and labour......

I thought it was 6 months.

At least NEC do a 1000 hour or 6 month guarantee, whichever comes first basically.

So if you bulb pops before 1000hrs AND is less than six months old you get a free replacement.

So I'd have thought others would have similar policies. Worth checking the small print on the guarantee agentdavo.

most do seem to go for 90 days with bulbs...... some places will do better, I think that germany gives better warranties as an example.
