Good quality consumer camcorders are a commodity item.....But am struggling to find ANY magazines on the shelf at WH Smiths et al. Found Video maker and Video Editing on Amazon.co.UK but they are US publications and you have to subscribe a ful year. They might not be any good. Surely there must be something out there. Any help gratefully received.

    Thanks.

I agree, there isn't anything, it's all photography and photoshop mags and 'bookazines' in WHS.

There isn't even a dedicated video camera mag anymore . The last one 'What Camcorder' was reduced to quaterly, but even that seems to have vanished now!

WHS do do a pro broadacst camera mag called IRIS that does some articles and tutorials. Most of the other stuff in it is weel over your average pro-sumer head though.

There used to be Video Focus titles in WHS for Final Cut and Premiere Pro but it has been a while since I saw a copy. They used to offer tutorials and DVDs with clips to play with etc.
The Iris is a good read if you want to learn more about pro video etc. (It is written and published by the guys at CVP http://www.creativevideo.co.uk/index.php?t=category//books+and+training/the+iris+magazine)

There are loads of tutorials and learning resources online and whilst I know it is not the same as sitting down with a magazine, you will probably get more out of them being interactive and in video form.
