I Spend a lot of time in France at my holiday home. I have heard that if i take a spare digibox, my active viewing card and hook it up to a dish it will work fine and i will get all the channels that i pay for in England. Is this true?

Yes - if your subscription is for the Family Pack or above, it'll work in any Sky digibox and will decrypt all except the Premium Channels (301-311 & 401-404) and one or two Family Pack channels.

The card does not need to be 're-paired' with the temporary box.
