    Hi,

Can someone give me some advice regarding video output on Gamecube. I have recently bought a projection system and want the best possible output.

Also, if anyone suggests hardware or cabling could you suggest a place to buy from.

    Thanks.

If you had a USA GC I'd say get a component lead and take advantage of the progressive scan mode enabled in some GC games such as MP and Burnout 2. As for UK GC, probably RGB is the best lead.

Thanks guys. I found someone on e-bay selling one of the component cables. Also I was reading on the Nintendo site that as of May 2004 they stopped making the GC with a digital out port! Apparently it allowed them to reduce costs and demand was poor.

I believe the UK Cube is still made with the digital out port - you certainly should be able to find them even if it isn't. As MarTTY said, go for the component option. For the ultimate performance, pick up a copy of Freeloader (you can find it for as little as £9.99 now, absolute bargain) and get prog scan compatible NTSC games. Yes, the PAL Cube CAN output progressive scan if you treat it right: Component cable + Freeloader + Prog Scan NTSC game = graphical goodness!!

Is it true you need to connect up the original AV Cable that came with the Gamecube to get audio?

Yes, that's right, as all audio comes out the analogue out, not the digital.
