    I get the feeling we are being ripped off again :mad:

    The Official Prices set by Microsoft for the Xbox are as follows -

    UK £299 :confused:
    US £206
    Japan £189 :eek:

    So yet again we are charged the most.

    And they can not use the same excuses Sony and Nintendo used about taxes and import duty, because the manufacturing plant is based in Western Hungary, so this means the Xbox can move freely within European Nations with out being charged any extra taxes like it would have done if built outside of the EU.

    Also the Hungary factory makes 44% of the Worlds Xbox output (even the JAP ones) so they can not say the price is high in Europe as it costs more to produce the Xbox here than it does in the Mexico Plant.

    PS. Please answer the poll

    Usually with polls such as these, a third choice is included. One which I specifically want to vote for.

    Option 3: I don't care what price the X-Box is because I don't want one.

    No sarcasm intended. I'm tolerant to all consoles and machines usually, and was looking forward to this particular one, but now I've had it up to here (I'm pointing to the top of my head by the way) with the X-Box.

    Opps :blush:

    I was going to put that third option in, but by the time I had typed my post I had forgot all about it.

    BTW: May I ask why you have had enough of the Xbox, If its the 'my consoles better that yours' debate that has put you off, well these have been around for over a decade (plus I have not seen any Xbox posts that put down other consoles, as they only state how good the Xbox is).

    I have never been put off buying a console by a debate, I make my own opinions.

    It's a combination of the hype, and the lack of any (in my opinion) decent games that have put me off. In eighteen months time I might want one again, because there will obviously be some excellent games on the system. Every machine has their own. Compared to the Gamecube, it really doesn't look that attractive anymore, and I'm fed up of hearing about it.

    Option 3 for me too.:p

    Not biased in favour of any other machine. Just can't ever see myself buying one.

    Hi Anne X !

    Its a rip-off indeed. If it was cheaper I would have bought more
    games. Things are so cheap in USA.
    What they pay in dollars is what we pay in pounds.
    Plus their salaries and cost of living is much better than us here
    in UK. Generally speaking ofcourse. oh that's another debate...
    ..this is abt our glorious XBOX!

    Thanks for the poll. MORE info abt the XBOX the BETTER.
    The same goes for the other inferior consoles.
    Makes me realise how wonderful the XBOX really is. I have first
    hand experiece of the XBOX from the Xperience event and since
    playing the launch games I've been hooked. Halo& Doa3 are top
    on my list.

    I can't get enough of the XBOX. I spent this whole weekend
    downloading xbox movie clips. :eek:

    I've already laid down a deposit on an XBOX
    Now it's all abt being patient. :rolleyes:

    Actually Hungary is not part of the EU.

    1951: Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
    1973: Denmark, Ireland and the United Kingdom;
    1981: Greece;
    1986: Spain and Portugal;
    1995: Austria, Finland and Sweden

    Not part of the EU, oops :eek:

    I was wandering that myself, but I keep on reading that its the European Factory, so assumed it was indeed in the EU.

    In fact the following was taken from a Press Release from MS
    I have a lot of friends buying the UK Xbox, so will see if its worth getting a UK version by playing on theirs - the main issue with me is if they neglect PAL the same way as Sony and Nintendo do.

    Because if they treat PAL correctly we will have a better picture on a standard TV (100 more lines) than the US Xbox, and without the borders or slowdown.

    There is a Pal-60 option in the dashboard.
