    Hi

Anyone know where I can get the adaptor required for the powerlead for a mini I-Pod bought in the US?

I think that Apple have a Universal Adaptor set but that's about $40 which seems a lot.

Is there a cheaper option and can I pick this up in PC World or Dixons etc.?

Also what exactly should I be asking for?

    Grateful for any advice.

    Thanks

Thanks for the advice Hughsey! :)

I do also have an i-Mac (though it's several years old) and I think that I might even be able to charge up the battery through connecting the two up? Which would mean I wouldn't need an adaptor.

    Cheers

You can charge the battery either through the firewire connection, or by connecting the firewire cable to the AC adaptor. My 3G iPod charges quicker from the AC adaptor.

I also got mine from the US. I removed the US plug from the AC adaptor and found a 2 pin figure of eight socket like you'd see on most home audio equipment behind it. A standard lead works fine when connected to it for me - total cost = nil :D
