Hey all,

Hope all is well, I just got this TV yesterday, nice upgrade from my old 1080p TV, I'm trying to make sure HDR is indeed working as expected, currently I have it hooked up to my PC via HDMI which has a Titan X Maxwell which can do 4K 60 HDR, now when I set a games resolution (Resident Evil 2 2019 or Hitman 2) to 3840x2160, a lot of the "Expert Settings" options are greyed out such as "Color" "Tint" "Contrast Enhancer", the Gamma is set to "ST.2084" and if I press the Info button it does show "3840x2160 / 60p" with the "UHD" and "HDR" tags.

However if I set a resolution of 4096x2160 then the image brightens up quite a bit, Dynamic mode is auto-selected and all the options that were greyed out are now available again, except Gamma which is now set to ST.2084 and greyed out.

Which one is correct ?

Thanks

Both. The TV is just changing mode based on what it is detecting.

In the first scenario, it is likely detecting the game metadata being sent and is switching to Game mode, which has it's own set of options. The same thing happens when using game consoles.

In the second scenario, it will be switching to PC mode; since it is likely detecting the PC signal.

With newer TVs, they switch in and out of modes depending on what type of media they detect you are sending them. this is even the case when the 'source' of the media remains constant.
