    Hi

I was looking to purchase a 4k HDR tv (UK). My broadband speed is always between
17 & 19 Mbps. UK Netflix recommends 25Mbps however I have read that 15Mbps is fine. Can anyone confirm that this is correct? And would this be for 4K only or would it also allow HDR to be shown in its full glory as I'm a bit confused.

    Many thanks

I believe I get between 15-25mb (it varies) and never had any issues with 4k hdr. It's great, although content is minimal, a few good shows but no good films. Sky q is getting much better for movies and if you get a 10 bit panel you get better colours.

Thanks for the reply. I can't decide if it's worth paying the £200 or so for a decent HDR tv or not, is there a big improvement in quality from 4k to HDR? I'm guessing the jump in picture quality is much smaller when going from HD to 4K?

    Cheers

HDR is the most noticeable benefit

If I get a HDR tv and want to watch amazon prime and Netflix through my PS4 will I get HDR quality or will I need a PS4 pro? Or will the TV itself alllow me to use these services in HDR through built in apps?

Just been reading about Dolby vision and now I'm more confused

PS4 has HDR since latest update, TV should also come with apps

You don't need much broadband speed for HDR. Mine is less than 10Mb so when I watch Amazon UHD HDR programmes I don't get UHD but I do get HDR.

So will Dolby vision require more bandwidth than HDR? If so does anyone know how much more?

    Cheers

On in the internet speed - mine is arond 25Mbs (FTTC) and Netflix is fine - and yes I think it actually works at at or around 15Mbs.

My 50in 4K TV is a 2015 Samsung model - but we got a firmware update for HDR.

For any other boxes - many 4K TVs only do HDR on one of the 3/4 HTML connections - although I believe that is changing and improving.

    Netflix in 4K looks great!

    Regards, Dave AC (cooperda)

I'm on 60mbs and grand tour stops every 5 minutes saying there's not enough bandwidth. Only signed up to Amazon last week and it does this every night
