    Guys,
In the age old tradition of AV I have researched to death and when I finally decided which TV to buy (36"panny), I was told it's discontinued! Anyone with links to panasonic who can confirm? Or even better give an idea of what/when/where discounts may be available?

Really wanted a 36"er with PAL/NTSC prog over component, any alternatives out there? I like the look of the tosh, but I believe its not progressive compatible?

    Lambonl,

Are you certain it's not the 36PD30 that's been discontinued (true)?

The PD50 has only been out a few months.

Of course, if true, then now is the time to buy! :smashin:

It's true. At the Panasonic trade show (Sunday?) they gave out a booklet which shows the PD50 as only being in production to April 2005.

They also said that to me here in Belgium, because, plasma & LCD are becoming cheaper, that's what they said (on the phone) but they still ordered my 32pd50 in germany....

Any advance on a CRT 36" with PAL/NTSC prog scan? I'm not confident enough in DLP/LCD/Plasma just yet.

    Hi all,
I am in the running for a new TV. I am after a 32" and have between £800-1000 to spend.

I wasn't sure about the LCD screens, so had been looking at a good old CRT.
After alot of months of trailing around websites and stores, I finally decided on the Panny 32PD50...

I wasn't far from ordering it, when I came across a thread on here saying that it is getting discontinued !!! It hasn't been out for that long, so it seems strange to be discontinuing it so soon...
I made some phone calls to the usual internet retailers, and some of them agreed saying that it was coming up on their system as discontinued..

Does anyone have any information about what is replacing it ?? :lease:

Should I still consider buying the PD50 or wait and see what comes out to replace it ??
Any help or advice would be appreciated....

Buy now, but make sure you get a good deal. :lesson:

If you wait for a replacement, you'll never buy anything, as there's always something better just over the horizon!

    Good luck.
