I didn't even know this was released! This special edition is not listed on Play.com at all. Is this a pre-release? I notice it's Region 2 & 4, is this why it's not on Play.com?

Play won't have it because it's an Australasian release. These DVD's are often dual encoded for region 2 and 4.

Is there any disadvantage of having the disc dual encoded? Should I just wait for a proper UK release of the special edition?

The R2 was released a long time ago when Universal UK were selling all their discs in super-jewel cases. I still regulalrly see it in the bargain bins in HMV and Virgin where I live.
Excellent 90 minute documentary and audio com on this one.

Is there likely to be a updated re-release in the near future on R2? I seem to buy movies a week before the "Directors Edition" with dts sound, fully restored image etc. comes out!

the CD-Wow! collectors edition is the Region 4 with the documentary, audio commentary and anamorphic video :smashin:

the R2 has the documentary but no commentary or anamorphic video :nono: (although i prefer the cover)

    i have both now :smoke:

I have the R4 version (for the documentary) and the R1 DTS version for the sound - luv it!

BTW the DTS version can be picked up from dvdsoon for under a tenner (OT so can Apollo 13 DTS)
