Further to my probs with new gfx card (see http://www.avforums.com/forums/graphics-cards-tv-tuners-webcams/998455-new-gtx-275-probs.html).
The card checked out so the PSU returns as the main suspect.
Apparently my PSU has potentiometers accessible from the side for tweaking voltages and protection sensitivity. I'm hoping using these will allow my new card to work properly rather than triggering black-screen re-boots.
The trouble is the Silverstone website & manuals (they're spec sheets really) say nothing about them. Anyone got any experience with this or any idea where I can get guidance
Otherwise I'll just have to plug it all together & experiment - could get expensive!
