    Hi,

I've looked at the Epson ThrowDistanceCalculator, but I am feeling a little dumb.

My current PJ is 3.6m from the screen, which is 98inches diagonal (1.2m w, 2.14 H approx).

The PJ is mounted on the ceiling and the screen is mounted to the top of the ceiling.

The ThrowCalculator says that at 3.6m away my screen should be 122" diagonal.

My question is: can I reduce the size of the image to fit onto the 98" screen with these measurements keeping the Epson in the same location as the current PJ.

    Cheers,

    David

Thanks for that - hopefully the zoom factor won't hurt the picture too much - but it's going to be a heck of an upgrade from my Sanyo Z1 :) Now just have to shell out the UKP1500 for it - darn these Southern Hemisphere prices ;)

Had the Z1 since 2004 so thought it was time for an upgrade - can't do DLP as both me and Mrs A. are subject to the rainbow effect - shame as there is some good pricing for DLP - certianly cheaper than LCD over here.

Just installed it. Didn't realise how big and heavy it is compare to z1 so needed new plate for my ceiling mount.

It is just so fantastic I can't begin to describe it. The z1 was awesome, but after getting a 50" plasma in the lounge we never used the cinema room. Now we have a 98" plasma equivalent!

PS3 at 1080p, MySky HDi at 1080i and xBox 350 at 720p - all look fantastic.

Problem is I now fancy a new screen to get it to 120" ;)

Got it for $400 less that RRP which over here is a good deal. Now have to shell out $250 for 2 pairs of epson 3D glasses - but may wait for that one :)

Got blade runner, matrix, LotR, star wars IV-VI, Harry Potter and Pirates waiting to be watched on BluRay :)

If anyone is thinking of upgrading (not that there'll be many left) then believe me - it is definitely worth it!

Get the third generation Panasonic glasses instead. Much more comfortable, lighter, rechargeable... and cheaper!
