Question TV without ARC/eARC, Amazon FireTV 4K and HT-X8500

Novice Member
ok, so i have a 50" TV but without any ARC/eARC ports.
i watch everything on FireTV 4K and want to get good sound, as my TV speakers kinda suck.
i plan on getting a SONY HT-X8500 that decodes DTS-X and Dolby Atmos and make the connection:

FireTV 4K ---> HT-X8500 (to decode the audio and use it as speakers) ---> my crappy TV.

can this work or am i daydreaming?

so any compatible audio format will be decoded via soundbar (Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital plus, Dolby True HD, Dolby Dual mono, DTS, DTS HD High Resolution Audio, DTS HD Master Audio, DTS ES, DTS 96 / 24, DTS: X, MPEG2-AAC) and only video sent to TV? i never owned a soundbar, that's maybe such silly questions..

Correct. The only audio that you’ll get from the Firestick will be Dolby-based: 2.0, 5.1 and Atmos, if you’re lucky.
