TV with MKV support

Hi everyone,

I was going through the LG website for TVs and noticed that some of the models support DiVX files. Does that mean that these TVs can play DiVX content from, say, a PC or NAS on a home network? Can these TVs or any others play MKV files too without the need for a separate media streamer or PS3?

Any help is much appreciated.

I remember reading something about some Samsung TV's playing back MKV files.

It wont be long before its supported all over.

I've read something about the Samsung TVs too but somebody was saying that an update in the firmware removed this capability.

I went ahead and bought an LG 47LF7700 which has no DLNA support. The price difference with the Samsung 7020 was too significant.

I guess I will need to use the PS3 as a media streamer or get an Xtreamer...
