TV wider than max recommended for stand?

Hi all

Wondering if any of you have encountered this?

I have this stand for a panasonic plasma 42"

Just ordered a 46" Samsung LED and only just realised on ikea site it says Max. screen size flat screen TV: 42.

Do you think this stand will be ok for a few weeks until new one arrives? The new tv is much lighter and only a few cm wider. Both the plasma and led wider than stand anyway (stand is 90cm, plasma 100cm and LED 104cm)

just worried there is some kind of engineering reason i shouldnt put tv on stand!

I'd be concerned if the weight of the new TV was over the manufacturer's stated limit but don't think I would be in the slightest bit worried by an overhang. :)

Ikea limits are weight based, new TVs tend to be much lighter than older ones, so should be OK.
Might look odd if its overhanging tho.

Thank you both...bit more relaxed now!

Yeah will look odd just temporary though as new stand on order but few week wait.

Appreciate your replies :)
