TV switching it`s self off.

    Hi, I have already had returned one tv to a local retailer for switching it`s self off or at leaset on to standby, but now the replacement a different brand is doing the same...........
    Any ideas?

    I read something about this in a letter to HCC magazine once and it was a fault with a chip and he took it back and got a replacement and the new one did the same I think it may have been a toshiba of some kind but not sure? What make is it and if it is the same as the one in the letter you can get a chip to fix it they should do it free of charge

    It has happend on a Grundig and now an Hitachi.

    have you tried it in a different socket my mate had this & it was something to do with his socket.

    Yep,

    Had exactly the same, except it also switched it self on !! Came home from work one night and thought I had burglars. Strange thing is it hasn't done it for a year (since being in a new house !) ...the wife swears blind it was a ghost at our old house .... and who am i to argue. :D
