I'm looking to buy a new TV stand to go in my TV room but I cannot find one that meets my needs.

It needs to be able to hold a 55in TV with bookshelf speakers either side. It also needs to house a centre speaker, AV Receiver, BR player, Sky box and Xbox. I can't find anything online that will hold that much AV equipment.
    Any recommendations?

    thanks

Depends what style you like. Wood, metal, glass. With or without doors etc.
    How about something like this?
    main.jpg

You could stack the amp, xbox etc on the lower shelf

If you want wood like the above, then have a look on ebay (strangely enough). We found one that looked roughly what we wanted, provided the seller with dimensions and were very happy with the result.

I've had a nightmare trying to source a new TV stand for my ZD9. I needed something large enough for the TV and with sufficient space underneath for a centre channel speaker (not a bloody soundbar!). I ended up ordering one of these (1350): Finewoods

My centre is 165mm and the clearance above the shelf is only 160mm. But I measured the stand in Richer Sounds and there is 25mm of space behind the horizontal bar. I'll pop my speaker in during construction.

Can't you put your speakers on stands?

I could find a suitable TV stand when I was last looking. There was nothing that would take all the necessary equipment and fit in the required space. To solve this I made my own. I drew up what I wanted, bought some wood in B&Q (and got them to cut it all to size) and then screwed it together.

I got one of these (eBay for £500) and it holds everything.

Has vents on the shelves, IR glass, wonderful.

I have a 55 on mine and bookshelves would fit either side.

This is what I had made locally. The DVD shelf houses the centre speaker but I never liked how it sounded.

I could but a decent pair of stands aren't cheap and the cheaper ones look, well, cheap.
The wife would also not be a fan of speaker stands. She doesn't even like the small ones I have for the surrounds and haven't yet told her I am upgrading the rear speakers to something bigger[/QUOTE]
