    Hi,

Just wondering if the TV stereo speakers should be used when using a 5.1 surround kit or should they be silenced?? Will using them add to the experience or just ruin the surround effect??

In general they should be off.

Some TVs may have the option of playing the centre channel through the speakers but this is fairly rare and even then you mightn't want to do this.
