tv signel in sons bedroom

I have just got sky plus, i have an old sky box so i wanted to put it in my sons bedroom.
I already have the wire that goes in to the bedroom. And two leads down in the sky plus box.
i also have a card from sky so i can watch free view (it wasnt mine but can with the old box it was my mams)
The prob is that the box in the bedroom comes up saying no signel is being received?
can any1 help please.

U sure the cable in the bedroom runs to the dish, and is actually connected up to the lnb?
