My 100HZ Toshiba has recently started squealing occasionally much like the old 50Hz tellies used to. That really annoying 15-16khz noise. It doesn't do it all the time. Is this a sign of impending death? It's not that old :( Or is something just not as surpressed as it should be, and I should live with it?

Thanks

Before I had my sony, I had an LG what done that.

Does the screen flicker before the sound? I think it is the sign of a soon death, sorry, yes.

Rubbish  you can't generalise symptoms like that.

What's the model no?
Is it under warranty?

If there's no effect on the picture it could be just a component in the Line Output stage "singing", i.e. vibrating with the frequency of the line output oscillator. It's usually easy to cure with a bit of glue or by redressing the component, but the main problem is sometimes that the fault will stop if you move the set.
