    Hi All

I've just got a new TV for my bedroom - a Toshiba 32WLT66 as recommended here:

the thing is I am not sure it is really much good as a MCE monitor. I have got a fairly decent picture out it using a DVI -> HDMI connector but I would rather a DVI -> DVI cable with 1:1 pixel mapping. I'd also like a tv that will turn on and off automatically when the PC comes out of standby. I know that this is possible with a VGA input so I assume it shoudl be possible with DVI as well.

I did consider getting an LCD monitor instead and getting some small speakers but I think the resolution on these will be too high to use the TV as a monitor - the text would be too small.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

    Thanks.

The HDMI input is for 'TV' resolutions not PC resolutions. You will not get 1366x768 or whatever res via the HDMI/DVI. You will get futher running it at 1280x720 50Hz but.

Connecting via VGA won't normally allow 50Hz refresh and this can sometimes make the pic look jerky as the minimum is 60Hz.
