Try to play a region 1 dvd from my pioneer 444 which has been converted and all my tv does is give me three lines across the picture with the movie playing.Tried it to a portable tv and i get a picture ok but its in black and white. My main set has 2 scart in and either one has the same effect, the portable only has one scart.

My main set is PAL only ( says so in the manual ) so no chance of getting a picture , but thought if i had a picture on the portable it would be in colour

Any gizmos i can add in line to my scart to give me a picture on my PAL set that anyone knows off.

    Thanks

Are you using an RGB SCART (all pins connected)?
Have you set the DVD settings to RGB output for the SCART?

Your probably right, did not think of selecting video out to RGB to view it on the portable.

Just read the manual and it would make sense.

Somewhat new to all this and need pointing in the right direction sometimes.

    Cheers
