I'm looking to buy an lcd tv (40-42") to use in conjuction with my Virgin Media V+ box and a media centre pc I am building. As VM don't have much HD content at the moment I would want good SD quality through HDMI.

From the pc I want to be able to feed the TV with Blu-ray video and also Internet browsing at 1080p through HDMI. In fact probably most of the time it will be used as a pc monitor.

I have a budget of £1500 for the TV. Any suggestions please?

The new Sony KDL-40W3000 will be an excellent choice and will fit in your budget!!!

Hi

Its worth pointing out that the V+ box won't output SD via HDMI - it up/down scales everything to either 720P or 1080i. There is no bypass mode.

The built in scaler is pretty good most of the time although the deinterlacing is sometimes a bit iffy - especially on large areas of red for some reason.
