My Dad wants to start into the world of HC:eek:

He has seen a Sony package of 28" widescreen, VCR and DVD for a tad under £900 or the Thomson (same gear) for £530

Trouble is they are both Virtual Dolby as he is not ready for the 5.1 speakers and the AV amp just yet!

does anyone know of a similar package but with pro-logic as this should do him for the time being.

shops and prices please..... before he is watching my DVD's in virtual surround

Personally, I'd say stick to a Nicam TV and add a pucka 5.1 when he's ready for it.

It just seems to me that you would be paying more money for a surround TV that would sound pathetic when compared to even a modest amp/speaker setup.

Poo logic is just a total waste of money - better off with an ordinary 2 speaker TV and get a budget Dolby Digital setup later
