TV on my laptop

Just bought a new VAIO primarily for work.

It turns out that it has an inbuilt TV tuner. It all comes packaged with tvtv.c.uk software and after hours of trying to set it up, it appears that I wont be able to watch even the FTA channels without a £15 annual charge.

Have I got this right?

Well it semes that the £15 is only for access the tv listings, what sotware comes with it, surely you can use it without the listings...
