Prove yourself worthy of the title TV / Movie Anorak 2003.

I'd like to know the most obscure, pointless, true, interestingish, tell your mates down the pub after a few beers, type TV / Movie fact.

Cmon' you lot must have know some!

For starters - In Gladiator, Maximus's 2 horses on his breastplate are tongue-in-cheek called Argento and Scarto ie. Silver and Trigger.

    Oh well, please top that!

There were 7 Gandalfs used in LOTR .

Penlope Cruz had it wrote in her Captain Correllis Mandolin contract that she had to have 13 hours sleep each night .

The crowd in The Phantom Menace for the big race were the tops of felt tip pens .

you may know this story but i like it .
In The Usual Supects the robbery in the Car park took over 12 hours to get right it was getting late and tempers were getting fraid .
The sound man was getting more and more angry in the end threw down his boom and said "this film is being made by amatures" and is the wworst film he had ever worked on .
"No one will ever watch it and will be a massive flop ".
He then stormed out of the set and quit .

also in the line up they were told NOT TO LAUGH as they said "give me the money cocksucker " after over 30 takes they decided to leave it in with them all laughing .

When filming Ben Hur, I forgot to remove my damn wristwatch. It's clearly visible if you look for it.

In the late 70's Hanna-Barbera film 'Kiss Mees The Phantom of the Park', drummer Peter Criss' spoken word lines were subsequently overdubbed by voice actor Norman Alden.

Norman Alden went on to voice the character of Kranix in Tranformers: The Movie.

Peter Criss went on to have most Kiss fans think it wasn't him when he spoke to them in real life, as his voice didn't sound like 'he' did in the film (their only previous way of knowing how he sounded when he spoke!)

    How's that for obscure? ;)

Actor Robert Shaw was actually devoured on the set of Jaws by a real great white shark which previously tried to mate with the shark model 'Bruce'. Spielberg however liked the scene for it's "raw, emotional authenticity" and decided to leave it in the version we see today.
All subsequent Robert Shaw performances have been produced through a combination of animatronics and CGI.

Never shown in cinemas was the scene in which, bedding Sean Young's beautiful android woman, Harrison Ford lifts up her dress and finds nothing but a maker's trademark and a Pat. Pending number.

The following actors all screen tested for James Bond: John Gavin, Burt Reynolds, James Brolin, & Sam Neil.

The arrows FX in "The Adventures Of Robin Hood" were all done for real with a master archer Howard Hill. He appears in the film.

My ex-next door neighboor is one of the coppers seen escorting the demonstration in the opening credits of "Who Dares Wins".

In Ben Hur, you could see a sports car parked up during the chariot race in the 'pits' next to where the crowd were. It got removed in later copies.
Surpised Ben didn't know that, but perhpas he was with Hur indoors at the time:confused: :D
