TV Link F140 issues

Hi all, (please bear with me!)
I've recently decided to reinstate the tv link f140 + magic eyes we used to have in our old house.
The goal is to have controllable sky in the main bedroom and kitchen.
Our house was built Nov 2010 and is over three stories +loft.
I've activated the rf2 output on the sky hd box and using a multimeter, confirmed 9v was present.
The sky box is in the living room on the ground floor. I've connected rf2 via a lead to the wall plate. This wall plate connects to coax which travels into the loft space. In fact, all the tv points in the house terminate here.
Now, I've checked for continuity at the loft end of the lounge coax and all is good. However, I can't get a 9v reading on the multimeter.
I've checked for one on the back of the wall plate and 9v was present. I've also removed the wall plate completely and hard wired directly into the sky box but still no 9v at the loft.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
All I can think of is the distance playing a part but 9v can't just disappear can it?
Any help is gratefully received!

a) How did you check the continuity?
b) Did you check for a short circuit?
c) Are you sure it is the correct cable you are testing?

Welcome back to the forum.
As you say, the idea of these systems is to get the Sky channel to other rooms, but you don't even mention whether that's getting through or not.

a) I used an old aerial lead, bare at one end with wires twisted together. The other end was plugged into the wall plate in the lounge. Checked at the other end using the multimeter.
b) can you advise further?
c) yes, the continuity is there so I know this is the correct cable.

Thanks for your help!

Cheers.
Would that be possible without the F140 powered? (please excuse me if that's a daft question!)

If there was a short it would always show "continuity"!

Remove the "old aerial lead, bare at one end with wires twisted together" and try again.

With many systems yes, but I don't know this particular one so that depends on what the power is for.
Is the channel getting from Sky RF2 Out as far as the other end of the cable before it goes into the distributor?
