ooooooooooooooooooops

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH you deleted the wrong ones!!!!!

As I was saying..........

How do the the licensing people detect whether you've got a license or not. Is it a good old fashioned paper chase or do they have some new fangled gizmo that picks up the frequency?

Phew, best not crash again

not sure if its changed but they know the addresses that do not have a licence then they drive round in that van and can detect signal being received.

Though i aint seen a van in years so maybe they dont bother or most people have a licence

If you're a uni student in halls, they presume you have a licence and send you £1K fine warning after warning followed by prosecution warning after warning followed by inspector visit notice after notice. Come on chaps! We're gone in June - take your time! You could miss out on a mint in fines! :p

TV detector vans are a myth. They have a list of every address in the UK and just compare it against a list of paid address. Then they start posting threatening warning letters to address without a license even if they don't need one.

If the letters don't work they will send soneone round who will try and look in your window or listen at the window or letterbox to see if you have a TV. BTW if you open the door to these people you don't have to talk to them or even give them your name.
