My brothers TV has just gone bang, hes already bought a replacement but I managed to stop him from throwing it away...... The bang came from the power cable rather than inside the box - the cable has fried. Question - Do you think its worth getting someone to look over the TV to see if its fixable ? Its a sony 28" widescreen (about 5 years old) and would be a nice replacement for my 10 year old Samsung but I dont really want to waste too much money if its dead as a dodo. Ive been wanting to get a widescreen TV for ages but have not had the money (also saving up for a projector ). Any ideas ho much a tv repair man would charge to give it the once over ??
