ok,i recently bought a 40v3000 and LOVING it

my mum and dad have been cooing over it too, so im going to be nice and buy them one!

question is, their only real inputs are v+ box and a normal dvd player...so would a 1080p telly for them look worse than an equivalent 40" tv but only at 720p?

For normal SD viewing and normal DVD viewing, an HD ready LCD will look better in PQ compared to FullHD LCD as there is less upscaling needed for HD Ready LCD. And it costs less too for better SD quality :)

Their V+ box will upscale to 1080i through HDMI so the TV will not necessarily need to do any upscaling.

Also, you will already know what the SD performance of the TV is from your own set up.
