    I'm useless at shopping for Tvs i just don't understand all the jargon Like Hz etc...
    I need someone to point me in the right direction, It'll be used for playing PS4 and watching the occassional sports. I do know that i want it full HD so far i have found these
    Samsung UE42F5000 | 42 inch LED TV 1080p HD Ready Freeview HD | Richer Sounds
    Buy LG 42LN540V 42" LED TV | Free Delivery | Currys

    But it is all gibberish to me! can someone point me in the right direction between the two or if you have a reccomendation then brilliant! I don't need all the fancy features like Smart TV and 3D i just need the standard Tv for my games.

    I'd go for the F5000 as it has better contrast than the LG. I am slightly suspicious of the 42" Samsung though as I'm not sure they have panels made by Samsung. 32", 40" and 46" are traditional Samsung sizes. I compared a 40" F5000 to a 42" F5000 and there was a big difference. Thats just my experience though. The 40" is quite rare and I think only Currys sell it. Trouble is its £50 more than the 42"!!! At £449 its too much. Amazon have got the 40" F5300 which is the smart version of the F5000. It has 3 hdmi ports but it doesn't look like you need them? Amazon are good as you can send the TV back within one month if youre not happy with it;

    If you could up the budget just a little then the Sony 42W653 at £489 is worth a look. Great TV for the price and great to game on.
