TV distortion on using xBox

Hi Follks

Hoping you can help. I have newly linked up my old xbox 360 via componenet cable to a new Samsung LED TV. The cable is new but non-proprietry. I'm now getting red and gren bandigng across the screen during gamplay, which seems to intensify with increased sound. Also have 5.1 surround, but have disabled this and gone back to TV sound with no difference. When the TV or 5.1 are turned up i notice a humming sound.

Any ideas? Thanks for any help

try another cable..a better quality one, possibly the official one if you can, and see if the problem goes away on your lcd.
some cheap cables are just plain crap, to be honest.

You were bang on - changed to official cable and hey presto, perfect picture. Really appreciate your help.
