Whats the current thoughts on tv cards - nothing fancy?
They are very good
You may need to be a bit more specific...
Analogue, digital, PCI, USB, MCE?, budget....
running xp, internal pci, analogue (can you get analogue/digital ones?)
budget is £40-50ish (picture quality is more important than recording channels.)
Im using a Hauppauge Win TV USB. Obviously an external usb box but works fine. I used to have an internal one that was kool too.
Most are analouge. You can now get them, that incorporate a "free to air channel decoder DVB"
Well if you want a freeview one. you can get of these...I have one myself and it's a great card, should of posted earlier I sold my spare one a few days ago...drivers are update when they need to be and the card has it's on forum on the manufacturesrs site, so if you ever need any help you can go there, this is the only card I know where they actually work on updates for it, such as DVB radio..
PS. and stereo sound!!
If PQ is something you need, then go for a Digital tuner, you'll be able to get extra channels and radio channels. Stereo comes as standard now.
for my money:
analogue - packard bell pctv100 (about £30)
digital - nebula digitv (about £100)
basically all I need is for this card to take a analogue feed from around the house (from tivo). So where can i get a pctv100 from?
search ebay for pctv. Pinnacle ones are ok
Or goto www.kelkoo.co.uk and type in pctv
anyone got any opinions on the Pinnacle PCTV 300i?
The cheap pinnacle PCTV cards are rubbish , you'll do much better with the PB TV-100 or similar for 30quid.
yeah, sorry that was a typo in my post, I meant PBTV not PCTV. I got mine from pc world.
