Hi,
I need a new TV, budget is around £400. Would just be for watching TV/netflix etc and xbox. I'm not too fussy about picture quality, I just want something that's good value and will last a few years.
- Viewing distance is ~2.5-3 metres.
- Understand I shouldn't worry about UHD at this distance, so 1080p is fine
- There are a few Samsung and Sony options at 48-49" at ~£400, but I noticed this weekend on John Lewis a Samsung 55" (not sure if it's a little too big, but seems like good value for £ vs screen size!)

On my list: (J-L prices)
- Samsung UE55K5100 55" £399 -- not smart; 2x HDMI, 1X USB, 1x SCART
- Samsung UE49K5100 49" £399 -- not smart; 2x HDMI, 1x USB
- Sony Bravia 48WD653BU 48" £399 -- smart; 2x HDMI, 2x USB (some others; + digital audio output)

1) Any others I should consider around this price range?
2) Planning to buy from J-L, then keep an eye for price drops in the Xmas/Jan sales. But I do need to buy now, I don't currently have a TV... so don't want to wait til spring.
3) Are there enough outputs on the Samsungs? Will I 'waste' a HDMI just plugging in a soundbar? I think they have bluetooth, so I could by a samsung sound bar
4) Not too fussed about 'smart' or wifi tv - can get a roku or similar, or set up spare PC as a media center

Your thoughts welcome, thanks very much for any advice!
