My venerable AT-OC7 has lost it's stylus entirely during a move. Bit of a downer. Anyway, are these still trade-in-able against new ? Who's good for buying cartridges off in 2004 ? Any good deals about ? Budget is under £100, probably under £50, TBH :D Would appreciate any advice offered, esp. if it's great ;)

    Cheers,
    Mike.

I am no expert on cartridges but if you are after a MM unit, I can wholeheartedly recommend Grado- the silver series at £90 is a fabulous (and very very strong) unit.

Your only problem will be any cartridge around the ton mark will sound a tad "shut-in" after the OC7. Try the Sumiko Blue point at around £130, that is pretty lively, as are the Grado Prestige Gold and the DL103 CJ mentioned. Try giving Ian Harrison (Ian Harrison hifi) a ring and see what he would trade in for your OC7. I'm not sure if we can give out phone numbers, even for trade, on the forums, so PM me if you want it. He can also advise on whats hot at around £100 at the moment.

I have an old OC9 somewhere, it needs retipping but should be an upgrade on the OC7. If your interested let me know.

I might also have a Nagoka MP11 (boron) which only had light use
